Dental Technology
Young woman being shown her digital x-ray at Caldera Dental Group in Redmond, OR The tools and technology in dentistry have come a long way in recent years. Improvements have made procedures less invasive, reducing downtimes. Other improvements have made dental restorations that look exactly like your natural teeth. At Caldera Dental Group, we take advantage of the latest dental technologies and techniques to provide you with the best oral care possible.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a handheld appliance that is shaped like a wand. The tiny camera at the tip of the appliance takes hundreds of pictures per second to capture an in-depth and accurate image of your mouth. This image is sometimes used to create a digital impression of your teeth and gums. At Caldera Dental Group, we use the 3-Shape Trios for our digital impressions.

Digital impressions have significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of diagnosing and correcting many different oral health problems. They can also save you a considerable amount of time in the dental chair, allowing for same-day restorations and faster orthodontic treatment. In many ways, digital impressions are a superior alternative to physical ones, which involve messy and uncomfortable materials.

Digital impressions also reduce or eliminate the errors and inaccuracies associated with traditional methods. Your scan will also be stored electronically, making it easier to share with specialists and other dentists if necessary. These scans are also faster than traditional materials, which take time to harden before your impression is complete.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners straighten your teeth without the use of metal brackets, wires, and elastic bands. Instead, we begin treatment by taking an impression of your teeth and gums. This impression will be used to create a 3D model of your smile. We may also take photographs, x-rays, and CBCT scans to gather a more comprehensive overview.

Once we decide how to correct your bite, we will develop an appropriate treatment plan for moving your teeth. All of this information will be sent to a dental laboratory, where they will use it to fabricate a series of aligner trays. Each tray in your series will gradually move your teeth to a more proper position.

New technologies and techniques have greatly improved the quality of our service to you. For more information on restoration technologies, call Caldera Dental Group today at (541) 604-2900.
