Whether your teeth are discolored due to your eating habits, poor oral hygiene or just as a natural part of aging, we can help you get your bright, white teeth back. There are options to whiten your teeth in the office or at home - either way you are provided with professional results that you will love.
Why Tooth Whitening?
Believe it or not, bright, white teeth can help to increase your self-esteem. If you do not like the way you look when you smile, you are less likely to do it often. This can eventually cause your moods to suffer as a result because the way you carry yourself has a great impact on your moods. At Caldera Dental Group, we can help you fix the unsightly spots from food, hormones, medication and aging, providing you with whiter teeth than ever before. Tooth whitening is the least invasive procedure to provide you with the look you desire.
The Causes of Discolored Teeth
Certain food and drinks can cause discoloration of your enamel - even healthy foods that you love. Berries, citrus fruits and tea are all examples of foods that are acidic in nature and will eventually eat away at your enamel. Other foods that are not as healthy, but are just as damaging to your teeth include sodas, coffee and red wine. In some instances, your lifestyle habits can have an effect on the color of your teeth; these habits include smoking, drinking and even certain medications.
How Caldera Dental Group Can Help
Regardless of the reason for the stains on your teeth, we can help you. If your stains are extrinsic in nature, we can help by providing teeth whitening right in the office. The procedure itself takes less than one hour and you are left with brighter, whiter teeth when the process is complete. As you sit in the dental chair, we will apply a whitening gel to the enamel of your teeth, while protecting your lips, cheeks and gums. Once the gel is applied, a bright light is used to activate the gel and let the bleaching process begin. Most patients are able to obtain teeth that are several shades lighter than before.
If you prefer to whiten your teeth at home, the process will take slightly longer, but the results will be similar. You will come into the office for an appointment so that we can fit you with custom made mouth guards that are worn during specific periods of the day (typically at night time). This process is completed over a series of two weeks. You will begin to see results progressively as the process continues - leaving you with a brighter, whiter smile at the end of the two weeks. On occasion, we may also offer dental bonding, which can be used to correct a tooth or teeth that have been stained.
